When looking at stats for Northwestern’s soccer team, there is one name that keeps coming up: Tiara Campbell. While she is only a freshman, she has quickly become one of the star players for the Rangers.
Campbell grew up in Apple Valley, California, only one hour and a half east of Los Angeles. She is the middle child in her family of five, and has played soccer since she was 3 years old. By the time she was graduating from Oaks Hill High School, the Rangers coaching staff had reached out to her.
“Alex (Piekarski) just saw me play, and then he emailed me,” Campbell said. “There were other colleges that I talked to, but I liked Northwestern the most.”
Campbell has had an impressive start to her college career, as she has racked up 15 goals in only 13 games, meaning she averages 1.15 goals per game. Campbell leads the GAC in several categories, such as goals, goals per game, points, and points per game.
